Mrs. Leona Sitter is our Indigenous Support Worker (ISW) who facilitates support for our indigenous students. We focus on supporting students with academic success, social-emotional wellness, and cultural awareness.
You may find Mrs. Sitter working with students in the classroom, sharing indigenous story, art, doing crafts, or making favourite recipes of the past.
Students have access to a continuum of supports and services through classroom, school and district-provided services.
This collaborative mural was created with David Wilson in 2016. It is the featured artwork in the resource “Story of Our Ways”
Hillview Elementary is also supported by Mrs. J. Cooke who helps as an Indigenous Outreach Worker on Tuesday's at Hillview Elementary.
